This has a nice design - I was not expecting much but the base fills with water as it floats, making it heavier. This prevents it from being knocked over and helps keep it in place. Surprisingly difficult to hit the fade away jumper, but fun. Recommend.I bought this for my son to use with his friends. Boys can be rough with stuff so I read a lot of reviews and decided on this one. I'm glad I did! The boys have dunked and jumped on this and it's still going strong. It’s worth the purchase the ball is nice too it stand upPerfect size for kids. Our grandkids love it.Kids are having a blastSo I had one of those old PVC pipe basketball nets like this. It fell apart to the point I could not repair it. My wife got me this as a gift to replace it. It is a bit taller. I am not in love with the ball it came with, a bit heavy and small, still using my old ball. But overall, I like it. Mostly, it doesn't fall apart, the pvc one was a nightmare. I just barely inflate it enough to stand up and use a lighter ball and you can get a little bounce of the rim which is nice. The other day I had a shot sit on the rim for what felt like 2 or 3 seconds before it decided to fall in. It's exciting, and that never happens with hard plastic. It seems to hold air very well. After 2 months, have not had to put air in it. If it has a downside, I would say that it is really light, so in an outdoor pool the wind can really push it around. You could, of course, tether it if you choose. I actually use the included ball as just some weight and keep it in the middle of the lower ring in the water to help a bit. Overall, I like it and I would definitely buy it again over the PVC one. I actually bought a PVC replacement first for my old one and broke the dang thing trying to assemble it.A wonderful water game. Our family thoroughly enjoyed this hoop over a weekend, making up stupid games on how we could score baskets. Easy to inflate (definitely need a needle adapter for your air pump for the ball though!) and stood up nicely in the water. One thing to be aware of, the inner-tube (the part that you inflate and floats) is covered by a fabric-type material (the material is undoubtedly made for the water), this is the part of the picture that has the blue and red pattern design on it. I'm sure this fabric is there for a very very good reason, but my nearly 70-year old dad, kept insisting on dunking into the hoop and ended up somewhat water-logging this fabric. Don't worry, the hoop still floated just fine! It just ended up leaning to an angle as there was probably just too much water in the fabric. If you use the hoop more gently, I don't think you'll have this issue. If you, your family, or friends, insist on yelling, "Lebron James!" and leaping across the pool to slam-dunk, you might end up with a lop-sided hoop like we did. Regardless, I know the hoop wasn't destroyed and once dried out, it will resume normal buoyancy. My nephews love playing with this hoop in the pool. It was easy to inflate and doesn't take up too much room.
